Students wanted for Youth Vendors at Delta Hot Tamale Festival in Greenville
By August 29, 2024 Youth
The 2024 Delta Hot Tamale Festival is back this year, offering the Planters Bank Youth Vendor section. Students eighteen and under can apply for booths to showcase their talents, including artwork, photography, jewelry, baked goods, and anything handmade.
“This program will be instrumental in cultivating the next generation of entrepreneurs who will continue the economic growth of Washington County. We are proud to have Planters partner in such an impactful program, and we cannot wait to see what the youth vendors will create in 2024,” stated Daniel Boggs, CEO of Greater Greenville Development Foundation, organizers of the festival.
The Planters Youth Partners area will be located on Washington Avenue between Planters Bank and First United Methodist Church. The area will have 20 youth vendors and the adjacent stage will be available for youth musicians in the morning.
“Planters Bank is excited to be a part of the Delta Hot Tamale Festival,” stated Parker England, President of Planters Bank in Greenville. “We want to work with local students to help them succeed as vendors. We will pay entry fees for the 20 youth vendors, and we are offering a class that all applicants must complete. We encourage students to apply early since we only have 20 vendor booths available. The class will cover the basics of starting a business, and it will be customized to help students with their Delta Hot Tamale Festival booth.”
Classes will be held on October 8th at 4:00 p.m. Planters will also teach classes at schools. To register or schedule a class, please contact Jamie Murrell at marketing@planters-bank.com or 662-884-1476.
